Websites for the Kilmarnock businesses that never got round to it
If you're not there when someone looks you up, the answer they find is a competitor who is.
Kilmarnock is built around a cross and a couple of very good streets. John Finnie Street runs through the town in red sandstone, King Street does the shopping, and the Palace Theatre sits at the end of it. Dean Castle and its park are a few minutes north, Rugby Park is west of the centre, and the Ayrshire countryside starts more or less where the housing stops.
Trade here is spread across the town and the villages hanging off it. Hurlford, Crosshouse, Kilmaurs, Stewarton, Galston. A business that works all of them is competing with businesses that work one, and the only way a customer can tell the difference is if the website has said so.
We are based in Glasgow's Southside, about half an hour down the M77. Most of a build runs on one phone call and then email, so the distance rarely comes into it, and if you would rather meet before spending anything then Kilmarnock is an easy run for us. Five pages, £500, no difference either way.
- Kilmarnock Cross and King Street. Shops, barbers, cafes and small practices in the middle of town.
- Riccarton and Shortlees. Joiners, electricians and van based trades.
- Onthank and New Farm Loch. Trades run from the house, plus childminders and mobile hairdressers.
- Bellfield and Hurlford. Garages, workshops and small contractors on the Ayr road.
- Crosshouse, Kilmaurs, Stewarton and Galston. Same terms, all covered.

Being found in Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock trade travels and the searches follow
We work across Kilmarnock and the villages round it, from the Cross, King Street and John Finnie Street out through Riccarton, Shortlees, Bellfield and Onthank, and on to Hurlford, Crosshouse, Kilmaurs, Stewarton and Galston.
Kilmarnock sits in the middle of a ring of villages that each have their own name and their own search. Hurlford, Crosshouse, Kilmaurs, Stewarton, Galston, Newmilns. Somebody in Stewarton looking for an electrician types Stewarton, because Stewarton is where they are standing, and what they get back is whoever wrote the word down.
Most trades here already drive to all of them. The van covers the whole of East Ayrshire while the website covers one town, and that mismatch costs money quietly, month after month, without ever showing up as a lost job you could point at. Listing the places you genuinely work is close to the cheapest thing on a website and one of the very few that changes who finds you.
What Kilmarnock businesses get wrong online
Describing yourself as Ayrshire and stopping there.
CommonNobody searches for an Ayrshire joiner. They search for a Kilmarnock joiner, or a Galston one. The county name is the word least likely to match anything a customer types.
Putting the villages in a list at the bottom and nowhere else.
CommonA row of place names under the footer does very little on its own. They have to appear in the writing, in the headings and in the page's own address, which is what the five pages are built to do.
Leaning on the football for local credibility.
CommonRugby Park is not what somebody looking for a roofer is checking. What they want is the streets you actually work and a number that gets answered.
Compare the cost
Why £500 once beats "from £350"
Budget web packages advertise a low headline price, then tie you to a monthly direct debit for a year and a half. Here's how that actually adds up.
| Feature | Savvy Website | Typical pay-monthly package | DIY site builder |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up front | £500 | from £299 | £0 |
| Monthly fees | None you have to pay | £20–£30 a month | £13–£25 a month |
| Minimum term | None | Often 12 to 18 months | Rolling, but forever |
| Cost over 3 years | £540 | around £1,200 | around £700, and rising |
| Who writes the words | We do | Usually you | You |
| Your own domain | Included, first year | Sometimes included | Paid extra |
| Who owns it | You, outright | Usually them | You rent it |
| If you stop paying | Nothing happens | Site comes down | Site comes down |
Our three year figure is £500 plus roughly £20 a year for domain renewal after the first year. One like-for-like note: pay-monthly totals usually include an email inbox and ours doesn't. Email is an optional add-on, priced on request. We do offer optional care plans from £24.99 a month if you'd rather we looked after the site. It is never required, there is no minimum term, and the three year figures above assume you don't take it. Even allowing for that, the gap doesn't close. Comparison figures are typical advertised UK prices for budget and DIY packages in 2026, and minimum terms are those the providers publish themselves. Always check what your own quote includes.
The only clause that matters
£500 fixed. We don't get half of it until you're happy.
£500, fixed. Half gets the build started; the other half is due only once you've approved the finished site. If we can't get it right, you don't pay it, and the site still transfers to you.
- You approve it before the balance is due. Not the other way round.
- We carry the risk. If we can't get it right, you don't pay the balance.
- It's yours outright. Site and domain, both in your name.
The arithmetic, in full
Fixed. That is the whole cost of your website, and there are no monthly fees to us, ever.
- Today, to start the build
- £250
- Once you've approved it
- £250
- Monthly fees, either way
- None
Card, Apple Pay or Klarna, handled by Stripe. If you would rather get a price first, start there instead.
We don't get that second £250 until you tell us the site is right. If we can't get it right, you don't pay it, and the site still transfers to you.

After you're live · optional
Never want to think about this again?
Once your site is live it is yours. It keeps working whether you pay us another penny or not, and most owners simply renew the domain each year. If you would rather hand the upkeep over, there are two plans. Both are optional, month to month, and neither is mentioned on the call.
- Care plan, £24.99 a month. Hosting, domain, backups, three changes a month and a traffic report. For a site that is live and just needs looking after.
- Success plan, £99 a month. All of that, plus changes as you go, Michael directly rather than a ticket, and half an hour on the phone each month.
- Neither is required. The £500 does not depend on it, and we only raise it near the end of a build if we think it would genuinely help.
The bit that matters
You can take the site and never hear from us again.
Cancel any time, and the site stays yours. It does not come down, it does not get locked, and we hand over every login.
That is not how most monthly website deals work. The usual arrangement is a small setup fee, a direct debit, a minimum term of a year or more, and a site that stops being yours the moment you stop paying. Which is exactly why this is written here rather than buried in terms.
How it works
Four steps, and you're only ever committed to the one you're on
See a free preview
We show you a preview of what your site could look like before you spend a penny. If it's not for you, that's the end of it. No hard feelings.
Start the build
Like the direction? The first half, £250, gets the build under way. We have a quick call about your business so we can write your pages properly.
Site goes live
Your site goes live at your own address about a week after our call. You get up to two rounds of changes to get it just right.
Approve it, or walk away
Approve it and the last £250 completes the £500. If we've not got it right, you don't pay it. The deposit covers the work done and the site is still yours.

Tell us what you do. We'll send back a price and a plan.

- A free plan comes with it. One page: where you come up on Google for what you do, who is above you, and the three things costing you calls. Yours to keep, whether you use us or not.
- We reply within one working day. Usually much sooner.
- No obligation, and no chasing. If it's not for you, that's the end of it.
- Rather just talk? Call or text Michael directly on 07508 750017, or message on WhatsApp.
If we emailed you first, the easiest thing is simply to hit reply.
Questions
What Kilmarnock businesses ask before getting a website made
Half my work is in the villages rather than the town. Will the site still find those customers?
It will if we write them in, which we do. Hurlford, Crosshouse, Kilmaurs, Stewarton and Galston go on the page by name, because those are the words people in them actually type. A site that only says Kilmarnock quietly gives those searches away. Tell us your real patch on the first call, about twenty minutes, and all of it goes in. Kilmarnock is about half an hour from us if you would rather meet in person, and the price is £500 either way.
How much does it cost to get a website made in Kilmarnock?
Across the UK in 2026, freelancers typically charge £800 to £3,000 for a small business website and agencies £2,500 to £10,000. Budget packages advertise from around £299 to £350, but usually add £20 to £30 a month on a minimum term of a year or more, which works out dearer inside two years.
Ours is £500 once, the same price in Kilmarnock as in Glasgow. The only ongoing cost is about £20 a year for the domain, and that goes to the registrar, not to us. See the full price breakdown →
Will my site be set up to rank in Kilmarnock searches?
Yes. Your Kilmarnock location and the areas you cover are written into the pages and the underlying code, so the site says Kilmarnock Cross, King Street, John Finnie Street, Dean Castle, Kay Park, Howard Park rather than just "Scotland". We also set up or tidy your Google Business Profile, which is what puts you on Google Maps when someone nearby searches for what you do.
Nobody honest will promise you a particular position for £500, and we will not. What we will do is the groundwork properly, which is more than a lot of sites at any price get.
Do you cover the areas around Kilmarnock too?
Yes. Ayr, Barrhead and Paisley are all covered on exactly the same terms, and each has its own page: Ayr, Barrhead, Paisley. If your town is not listed, ask anyway, because the answer is nearly always yes. Here is everywhere we cover.
Can you build the whole website for me?
That's the whole idea. We do all of it: the words, the design, the photos, the domain, the hosting and the Google side, then show you the finished site and you tell us what to change.
Your part is a 20 minute phone call and any pictures you've already got on your phone. There's no software for you to learn and nothing for you to write.
Are there any monthly fees?
None that you have to pay. Hosting, the security certificate and backups are included for the first year, and after that the only bill is the domain renewal, about £20 a year, paid directly to the registrar. There's no contract and nothing to cancel.
If you would rather we kept looking after the site there are optional plans from £24.99 a month, but you can take the site and never hear from us again and it will carry on working.
What's the catch with the £500?
There isn't one. We keep the price down by doing one focused job well: a fast, good-looking site that gets you found and gets your phone ringing. £500 is the whole price of the website.
What it doesn't buy is an online shop, a booking system or a custom-built app. Those are real development jobs and cost real money, and if that's what your business needs we'll say so on the call rather than sell you something that won't do it. More questions answered here.
