Getting in touch

There is nothing to commit to

Most of it takes about five minutes.

Getting in touch does not put you on a list and it does not start a sales process. Most people who contact me want one of three things: a rough price, an honest answer about whether a website would actually bring them anything, or a look at what £500 gets.

If it turns out you do not need a site, or that you need something bigger than I build, I will tell you on that first call. It costs me twenty minutes and saves you a fortnight.

Five ways to reach me, and what each is good at

  • Phone or text, 07508 750017.

    Direct

The fastest option, Monday to Friday between nine and six. If I am on another call it goes to voicemail and I ring back the same working day. A text gets a reply just as quickly and is easier if you are up a ladder.

  • WhatsApp, same number.

    Direct

Best if you want to send photos of your work or your shop while we talk, since they arrive at full size. It is also the easiest way to reach me outside office hours, though you may not hear back until the next working morning.

  • Email, michael@savvywebsite.co.uk.

    Direct

Best when you want everything in writing, or when you have a list of questions rather than one. Slower than the phone, but nothing gets forgotten and you have a record of what was agreed.

  • The quote form on any page.

    Direct

Two fields and under a minute, and it lands in the same inbox. The right choice if you would rather not talk yet. The trade-off is that I will almost always need to ring you before I can quote properly, so it adds a step rather than removing one.

  • Book a 20 minute call.

    Direct

Pick a slot and it goes in both our diaries, which beats playing phone tag all week. This is the same call the whole site gets written from, so booking it is not an extra step, it is the first one.

The postal address is 0/2, 9 Strathyre Street, Glasgow G41 3LL. It is a working address rather than a shop, so there is nobody at a front desk. If you would rather meet in person, ring first and we will sort out a time and a place.

After you get in touch

What happens next, and how fast

There is no queue and nobody triages it before I see it.

Ring or text during office hours and you will normally get me straight away. Anything else gets a reply within one working day.

The first proper conversation is about twenty minutes on the phone. I ask what you do, who your customers are, what they always ask before they book, and what you want the site to bring in. There is nothing to prepare and nothing to have ready.

After that you get a written quote and a free one-page plan: where you come up on Google for what you do, who is sitting above you, and the three things currently costing you calls. The plan is yours to keep whether you go ahead or not.

If you do go ahead, you pay £250 and I start. From that call to the site being live is usually about a week, depending mostly on how quickly photos and details come back to me. You see the finished site before you pay anything else, and the second £250 is due only once you have told me you are happy with it.

Before you ring

What I need, and what I don't

Four things, and none of them are work.

What you do not need to have ready

You do not need to write a brief. I have never met a sole trader who enjoyed writing one, and I have never needed to read one to build a site. The twenty minute call does the same job better and takes a twentieth of the time.

You do not need to write a word of the site. That is the part I do. If you have already written something you are fond of, send it over and I will work it in, but nobody is waiting on you for copy.

You do not necessarily need photos. They help, and phone photos are genuinely fine because I crop, straighten and colour-correct them anyway. If you have none at all, tell me on the call and we will work out what to do about it rather than quietly filling the page with stock images of someone else's kitchen.

You do not need a logo, and you do not need to have bought a domain or to know what a domain is. The domain is included for the first year and I set the whole thing up.

  • What you do and where you do it. The trade, and the towns or streets you actually turn up in. That is most of the quote right there.
  • Your current website, if you have one. Just the address. If you do not have one, say so; that is the more common answer and it is not a problem.
  • What you want more of. Quote requests, fewer time-wasting calls, people finding your opening hours before they set off. Different answers build different sites.
  • A number and a good time to ring you. If you are on the tools until five, say five. I would rather ring at the right time than three times at the wrong one.

Tell me what you do. I'll send back a price and a plan.

Two fields is enough to start. You'll have your price within one working day, and a free one-page plan for your business alongside it. If the job's bigger than the £500 build, I'll tell you straight and quote it properly.

  • A free plan comes with it. One page: where you come up on Google for what you do, who is above you, and the three things costing you calls. Yours to keep, whether you use me or not.
  • I reply within one working day. Usually much sooner.
  • No obligation, and no chasing. If it's not for you, that's the end of it.
  • Rather just talk? Call or text me on 07508 750017, or message on WhatsApp.

Add your logo, or a few photos of your work Drag them in or tap to choose · JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF · up to 10 files, 5MB each, 30MB in total

Two required fields, that's it. The rest just helps me quote it properly. I'll only use your details to reply about a website, see the privacy notice.

Questions

What people ask before getting in touch

How quickly will you get back to me?

Within one working day, and usually much sooner. If you ring during office hours, Monday to Friday nine until six, you will normally get me straight away.

Do I have to phone, or can we do it all by email?

The build needs one phone call of about twenty minutes, because that conversation is what the whole site gets written from. Everything else can be email if you prefer. If a call is genuinely difficult, say so and we will work something out.

Will I get a sales pitch?

No. If a website will not help your business, or if you need something bigger than a five page site, I will tell you on that call. The care plans are not mentioned on the call at all.

Can you come to me?

Yes, anywhere within a reasonable run of Glasgow, and the price does not change. Most people find they do not need to meet, but it is there if you would rather.

What does the free plan actually contain?

One page: where you come up on Google for what you do, who is sitting above you, and the three things costing you calls. It is a diagnosis rather than a build spec, and it is yours to keep whether you hire me or not.

Half now. The rest only when you're happy.

That's the whole deal. £500 fixed, paid in two halves, and I don't get the second until you've approved the site.
