Who we are
Savvy Websites is run by Savvy AI, based in Glasgow, Scotland. We're the "data controller" for the information described here. You can reach us at websites@savvyai.co.uk, on 07508 750017, or by post at 0/2, 9 Strathyre Street, Glasgow G41 3LL.
If we've emailed you about a website
We contact local businesses that don't appear to have a website, to offer them one. To do that, we hold a small amount of information about the business:
- The business name and what it does.
- Business contact details: email address, phone number and general location.
- Publicly visible details such as your Google rating and reviews.
All of it comes from public sources: Google Maps and Google Business listings, public Facebook pages, Companies House, and business directories. We don't buy lists and we don't collect anything private.
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interest: we're a business offering a relevant service to other businesses, using contact details those businesses have made public for exactly that kind of contact. We've weighed that against your interests, we keep the data minimal, and we make it effortless to say no.
Website previews
Sometimes we prepare a free preview page showing what a website for your business could look like, using the public information above. Preview pages aren't listed on search engines, and if you ask us to take one down, we'll remove it straight away.
Your rights
To stop hearing from us: reply to any email with "remove", or email us the word "remove", and you're permanently deleted from our list. We keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list so we can make sure we never email you again. We won't argue, and we won't email "just to confirm".
Under UK GDPR you also have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you (access).
- Have it corrected if it's wrong (rectification).
- Have it deleted (erasure).
- Object to us using it, including for marketing (objection).
- Ask us to limit what we do with it (restriction).
Email websites@savvyai.co.uk for any of these. We respond within a month, usually much faster.
If you visit this website
- No tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security. These are kept briefly and not used to identify you.
- If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence so we can deal with your enquiry.
How long we keep things
Outreach details are deleted when they're no longer relevant, and immediately if you ask. If you become a client, we keep the records needed to do the work and meet legal obligations such as tax records.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
